The Oppertunity
In 2017 as Overloop was being founded by Remco Van-Stiphout, it already had a strong core team with interested clients which separated it from typical startups. It needed a brand that would help it thrive in a very saturated web engineering market. A brand that could withstand the unique challenges of being an entirely remote business.

The process was highly iterative with the foundation of the concept being strong symbolism. We explored symbols that expressed communication, Longevity and trust.

An abstract mark was developed that was made up of two sides or a two way conversation between Overloop and the client, with elements of the recognisable symbol for infinity to represent the long term nature of this collaboration.

The wordmark is geometric, recognisable and gives off a friendly feel with its roundness. We fine-tuned the shapes of the letters and the kerning to achieve greater scalability. 

We wanted to build a palette that avoided the overused stereotyped blue tones of the tech industry, and instead focused on highlighting the passion of the team and the positive relationships between Overloop and their clients with warmer tones.

Brand culture faces unique challenges in a remote setting. To combat this we workshopped creative ways to bring the team together, we did this through building all-inclusive quarterly meetups with the whole team as a core part of the brand.

Additionally, we designed useful brand merch such as clothing, laptop bags and water bottles that would be sent as packages to team members.
